How to create a Macro command Creating a Macro is very simple. First thing you need to do is type in a backslash into your chat window. The backslash "/" tells the system you're inputting a command instead of typing standard text. After that, you have to identify which command you are using. In this case, type the word Macro so that the system knows you're using a /Macro command. This is what you should have so far: /Macro Press Space then pick a 1 to 3 character identifier for your macro. This identifier is to help you remember what this Macro command is in regards to. So for example if you wanted to create a macro for an advanced medic you could type "Med" as your identifier. It doesn't matter what you put here, only you will be able to see this so pick whatever helps you remember. This is what you should have so far: /Macro Med After you've decided on your 1 to 3 character identifier, press the spacebar again and type in the command for which chat room you want this macro to associate itself with. You can type /L for local chat, /S for squad chat, /O for outfit chat, and so on. For an advanced medic, you should use the local chat command. This is what you should have so far: /Macro Med /L Type in another space and then finally, the message you want displayed. For example: "Don't tap! I'm a medic." This is what you would have for this command: /Macro Med /L Don't tap! I'm a medic. When you've finished typing your message, press the enter key and you will be given a small comic type chat bubble (sort of like the page icon up top of this page) with the one to three character identifier you choose. Place this icon into your hotbar. Once you do this, you can press the associated key for that slot and your macro message will be displayed instantly. In our example, when we press the hotkey associated with our new macro, the text "Don't tap! I'm a medic." will be displayed in local chat. Note: You can delete your macro from the hotbar by right clicking on the icon within your hotbar or by dragging it off your hotbar and clicking the screen itself. You can mix this macro with other commands such as chat colors to make colored macros. Check out the chat colors page to learn more about using colorful text. | ||
