What are certifications?

PlanetSide Certifications are what makes any soldier more versatile. They are essentially 'skills' that can be obtained in the game once you've acquired the necessary amount of Certification Points or 'certs' for short. They allow players to use different types of equipment including Weapons, Armor, and Vehicles. Certification Points are granted each time your soldier levels up. For information regarding the levels of characters and gained certifications please view our "Experience Broken down" section.

Without Certifications, your character will just be a shell. We highly recommend spending Certification Points as they are gained. Proper planning on 'What you do you want to be when you grow up' will make matters much easier so that you do not have to go back and uncert something.

Note: You may choose to forget any cert you currently have at the expense of a 6 hour timer that prevents you from unlearning another cert within that time frame. An exception to this are newborn characters. Newborn characters are immune to the certification timer for one week after their creation. This allows new players to experiment with certs as they see fit.

Additionally, having a specific certification such as the 'Heavy Assault' Certification allows the soldier to use all Heavy Assault weaponry even if the weapon itself is not specific to the player's empire.

Weapons:

Standard Assault Certification: Cost- N/A
This certification is automatically learned by all players and cannot be unlearned. It provides the player with the basic skills to use weapons such as the Suppressor, AMP, Repeater, Beamer, Scatter-Pistol, Empire specific knives, the Jammer Grenade, the Fragmentation Grenade, and the Plasma Grenade.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Medium Assault Weaponry

 

Medium Assault Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points

This certification affords the player the how to skills required for them to use the Sweeper, Punisher, Guass, Pulsar, Cycler, Spear, Stinger, Eraser, and Spiker weapons.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Heavy Assault Weaponry
Anti-Vehicular Weaponry
Special Assault Weaponry
Sniping Certification

 

Heavy Assault Certification: Cost- 4 Certification Points
This certification enables players to use the Maelstrom, JackHammer, MiniChainGun, and Lasher heavy weaponry. Visit our "PlanetSide Heavy Assault Weaponry" for further details on each weapon.

 

Special Assault Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows a player to use the Rocklet Rifle, Thumper, and the Radiator.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Elite Assault

 

Elite Assault Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Points
This certification grants the intellect for players to use the Dragon and the Scorpion weaponry.

Note: These weapons may also be obtained freely once you have completed enough terms of service to your empire.

Anti-Vehicular Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification gives players the ability to use the Decimator, Phoenix, Stiker, and Lancer weaponry.

Sniping Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification provides knowledge of the use of the Bolt Driver and the Heavy Scout Rifle.

Note: The Heavy Scout Rifle is awarded to players with 2 years of service to their empire.

Armor:

Standard ExoSuit Certification: Cost- N/A
This certification is automatically learned by all players and cannot be unlearned.

It provides the player with the basic standard armor which is automatically set up as a default when you die or create a new character.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Agile ExoSuit

Agile ExoSuit Certification: Cost- N/A
This certification is automatically learned by all players and cannot be unlearned.

It provides the player with an advanced exosuit which is a good improvement over the Standard ExoSuit. Because this is automatic and free, Feminine Divinity suggests using this armor (or any other) over the Standard ExoSuit at any time.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Reinforced ExoSuit
MAX (AA Config)
MAX (AI Config)
MAX (AV Config)

Reinforced ExoSuit Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the "Rexo" which is a heavy duty armor and significant improvement over the Agile ExoSuit.

Note: The RexoSuit is a free reward for players with the five year term of service merit.

MAX (AV Config) Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of your empire specific Anti-Vehicular configuration MAX suit. That's the Falcon for the New Conglomerate, the Pounder for the Terran Republic, or the Comet for the Vanu Sovereignty.

MAX (AI Config) Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of your empire specific Anti-Infantry configuration MAX suit. That's the Scattercannon for the New Conglomerate, the Dual Cycler for the Terran Republic, or the Quasar for the Vanu Sovereignty.

MAX (AA Config) Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of your empire specific Anti-Air configuration MAX suit. That's the Sparrow for the New Conglomerate, the Burster for the Terran Republic, or the Starfire for the Vanu Sovereignty.

Uni-MAX Certification: Cost- 6 Certification Points
This certification is essentially a package deal that offers the use of all three of your empire specific MAX Configurations for a reduced Certification Points cost.

Infiltration Suit Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows the user to don a stealth suit capable of cloaking the player.

Note: The Wraith ATV will cloak if a player is using this suit.

Phantasm

Air Cavalry, Scout Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the Mosquito light scout aircraft.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Air Cavalry, Assault
Air Cavalry, Interceptor

Air Cavalry, Interceptor Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the Wasp light air to air aircraft.

Air Cavalry, Assault Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the Reaver heavy assault aircraft.

Air Support Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the Galaxy, Lodestar, Liberator, and Vulture.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Galaxy Gunship
Vulture

Note: The Vulture is obtained when a Liberator pilot obtains the Bomber Ace award for kills made by their respective bomber and gunner. There is no actual certification for this.

Galaxy Gunship Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the heavily armored and most devastating aircraft, the Galaxy Gunship.

Armored Assault 1 Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the lightly armored Lightning tank.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Armored Assault 2

Armored Assault 2 Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Point
This certification allows the use of the heavy main battle tanks known as the Vanguard, Prowler, and the MagRider.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Flail
BattleFrame Robotics

Flail Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Point
Allows access to the Flail as long as you have the Core Combat Expansion Pack or the AfterShock package.

BattleFrame Robotics Certification: Cost- 4 Certification Points
This certification allows the use of the heavy armored walking Battle Tanks known as BFRs. With this you gain access to the Peregrine, Colossus, and the Aphelion.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
BFR Anti Infantry
BFR Anti Aircraft
Advanced Flight Variation BFR

Note: The Advanced Flight Variation BFRs such as the Eagle, Invader, and Eclipse are obtained once you gain the XX while using the standard BFR. Like the Vulture, there is no actual certification for this.

BFR Anti Aircraft Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Point
This certification allows a BFR pilot to gain access to their empire specific Anti-Aircraft BFR weaponry.

BFR Anti Infantry Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Point
This certification allows a BFR pilot to gain access to their empire specific Anti-Infantry BFR weaponry.

Ground Support Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows access to the Advanced Mobile Station and with the Core Combat or After Shock package, the Router.

Ground Transport Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification allows access to the all of the ground transport vehicles such as the Deliverer and all of its variations; Thunderer, Raider, and Aurora. As well as the Vindicator, Juggernaut, and Leviathan heavy troop transport vehicles.

Harasser Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Point
This certification allows access to light and agile Harasser.

Assault Buggy Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification allows access to the Skyguard, Harasser, and empire specific heavy assault buggies, Enforcer, Marauder, and the Thresher.

ATV Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Point
This certification allows access to the Basilisk, Fury, and Wraith four wheelers.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Switchblade

Switchblade Certification: Cost- 1 Certification Points
The Switchblade is offered in this certification as long as the player has the ATV certification and the Core Combat expansion or Aftershock packaged game.

Light Scout Certification: Cost- 5 Certification Points
This certification is a package deal which includes the Harasser, Mosquito aircraft, Skyguard anti-aircraft buggy, and the empire specific assault buggies such as the Enforcer, Marauder, and Thresher all for a reduced certification point cost if gathered individually.

Phantasm Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification affords the player with the Phantasm stealth transport aircraft as long as they have the Infiltration Suit certification.

This certification provides the ability for soldiers to use the BANK and the Nano Dispenser.

Combat Engineering Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to use the ACE.

Assault Engineering Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to use the FDU in order to create empire specific field turrets and the Aegis Shield Generator. This also enhances your knowledge of the ACE and affords you the ability to upgrade the Aegis Shield Generator to supply ammunition for a short time.

Fortification Engineering Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to use the FDU in order to create impassible blockades known as Tactical Resonance Area Protections or simply 'TRAP' for short. This also enhances your knowledge of the ACE and allows you to place even further CE such as mines and Spitfire Turrets as well as place two new unique Turrets. With this you can also upgrade base wall automated defenses and you'll have the ability to upgrade the Aegis Shield Generator with a shield

Advanced Engineering Certification: Cost- 5 Certification Points
This is a package certification that combines the Assault and Fortification Engineering certifications at a reduction of 1 Certification Point.

Hacking Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to gain basic hacking skills that allow that soldier to hack through doors and control consoles at a faster rate. Additionally a hacker can unlock enemy owned Lockers for use.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Advanced Hacking

Advanced Hacking Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to further their hacking skills. With this they can invade enemy electronic systems at even quicker speeds opening doors and hacking control consoles at an even faster rate. Additionally advanced hackers can hack through all enemy terminals and can also jack unoccupied enemy vehicles transferring control from an enemy empire to their own.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Expert Hacking
Data Corruption
Electronics Expert

Expert Hacking Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
Expert hackers are even more advanced and can not only access all systems at an incredibly fast rate, but they can also upgrade pain field modifiers, jack enemy vehicles even while occupied, upgrade an Aegis Shield Generator to provide enhanced radar stealth and enemy detection, and disable base infections.

Data Corruption Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to use the exclusive T-REK to corrupt sensitive enemy systems.

Electronics Expert Certification: Cost- 4 Certification Points
This certification is a package deal that includes the Expert Hacking Certification as well as the Data Corruption Certification at a reduced combined price of 1 Certification Point.

Medical Certification: Cost- 3 Certification Points
This certification provides the ability for soldiers to utilize the Medical Applicator in order to heal themselves and others.

This certification is a prerequisite to obtain:
Advanced Medical

Advanced Medical Certification: Cost- 2 Certification Points
This certification furthers the development of a soldier with the Medical Certification by allowing that soldier to fully resurrect a fallen soldier.
